The OEM Lotus starter ring is screwed/welded to the flywheel and was initially designed for Toyota models with lower load and performance. This is why the part - sooner or later - tends to break in the high-performance Lotus environment (please see pictures). The crucial area is where the OEM sprocket is welded to a sheet metal disc. If it breakes at the weld, that incident can lead to massive damage on starter, gearbox and engine block.

This risk can be prevented by using the JUBU high-strength steel flywheel with integrated starter ring. Our part was designed to handle higher, continuous loads and gets rid of this OEM weak spot. The starter ring is not screwed/welded to the flywheel, but fully integrated and comes as one part - this reduces the risk of fractures (bc. there is no weld at the JUBU part). It is also made of steel instead of aluminium, that also leads to a much higher durability. It is designed as a plug & play part and can replace the OEM part in all Lotus V6 cars with OEM Lotus AP clutch without any further adaptations.

NOTE: We highly recommend to use a steel flywheel instead of products made of aluminium. Aluminium is way less durable than steel which is really relevant in this case.
